Welcome to my week-end feature...She's Crafty! This is where I feature one crafty mamma, her fabulous craft project and tutorial too, because we can craft anything with a great step by step tutorial right girls?
I just love these fabric flowers I've been seeing all over blogland lately. Talk about versatility? These babies can be used for headbands, flower pins, hair pins...you name it! Here's a super cute one from Ana Paula at Get Craftin! Some of her fabulous projects include headbands, sashes, necklaces and many other fun accessories. I'm talkin' about real girly girl crafts...love that!
Here's Ana Paula's flower tutorial in her own fabulous words:
Maybe you've seen these around maybe you haven't.
I thought i'd write a little tutorial on how to make these beauties.
What you'll need:
100% Polyester fabric
Scissors
Hot glue
Any type of bead for the center
and a lighter
First: Start out by cutting rain drop shapes from your fabric. The sizes depend on the size of flower you want, so play around a little until you find the size you want.
Second: With a lighter carefully burn the edges. Leave the shiny side inside as you burn the edges.
Third: Start gluing your petals in a circular way, layering one on top of the other.
Fourth: When you have glued all your petals add a bead or sequin to the middle for a finishing touch.
You can make these small or big.
I made one for a little girls headband.
You could use them for grown up hair accessories,
pin ons,
or
even for decoration around the house. Especially with Spring coming up!
Wow, what a fun craft idea and so simple too...anyone could do this! And look how cute this headband is on baby above...awww! Thank you Ana Paula for the fabulous tutorial, you are a crafty inspiration for sure.
When you get the chance, go visit Ana Paula at Get Craftin. She's got many other fun and easy craft ideas we all can do!
Have a great week-end!
