Pottery Barn Inspired Candle Votives!

I was flipping throught the Pottery Barn Catalogue the other day and fell in love with these outdoor votives below...SIGH!  And with summer coming, these votives would be P-E-R-F-E-C-T on our deck and sceened in porch areas.

So when I found these lil' green cuties below for just $1.99 each at Old Time Pottery (local Charlotte discount store)...I knew I could easily revamp these guys to look more like the PB originals!

First things first, these white lids were NOT workin'.  So I removed the lids and decided to spray the white hangers with some leftover Oil Rubbed Bronze spraypaint.

Once the painted hangers were dry, I added sand and simple votive candles and DONE.  Yup, it was that easy!
...

This one is hangin' from our outdoor garden rack on our screened porch! I can't wait to light these babies at night...so fun!

This green color is perfect for our screened porch and deck which have black wrought iron and dark brown wicker furniture, as well as rust and orange colored cushions.  Don't you just love the perfect "pop" of color?
...

So there you have it, Pottery Barn inspired jar candle votives!  Scoop these up from your local discount store...add sand, candles and a little paint and you've got Pottery Barn style...for a whole lot less!

I love "finds" like these...you know when you find something that works better for you than the original?! The green is a great accent! I hope you enjoy them for many summer evenings!

Love the green! I made some of these a couple of years ago, and have found them to be very versatile. I hang them in my golden rain trees out back, and on hooks that stick in the ground, line my driveway with them as luminaries when I have parties, and use them on the patio and front porch. I know they'll come in handy for the next hurricane, since I live in Florida. Beautiful job!

I love these too! The green is a great color and they really do look much better with the oil rubbed bronze. Great work!

FYI - These mason jar holders can be found in different colors/wire holders at the Christmas Tree Shops ($1.99) for anyone in search of them. I bought two of them a few weeks ago with clear glass and bronze top. They also had them in cobalt blue, pink, green & yellow.

for my sister's wedding, we made these but put split peas in the bottom to add the touch of green. they look so pretty that they are now on my mantle.

This is a great idea! I loved those jar candle holders, but not the price. . . your knock-off is right on!

We don't have a Old Time Pottery in our area, so I will have to be on the lookout for something similar at one of our local stores. I am totally obsessed with grean and black right now...have re-done my family room in those colors and I'd love to take it outside on the deck! Cannot wait to try this...how smart!
