Her blog is chock full of fabulous ideas from cute girly accessories to thrifty and fun home decor items.
And so without further delay, here she is...
Hey Everyone I'm Ana
the chick behind Get Craftin'
A little about myself...
I'm a happily newlywed. 8 months now, Is that still a newlywed? It sure feels like it!
I love anything purple and green, in fact those were my wedding colors.
I love creating anything that is simply cute...
for my little apartment...
for myself...
babies (not ours yet):)...
...you name it i love creating!
My favorite crafts are probably girly accessories, if you stop by my blog you will notice i love headbands...
and jewelry...
I really just love love love anything cute and feminine
especially if i can make it within my newlywed budget(which is not alot).
I'm going to share with you this easy tutorial just in time for Mother's Day.
Mother's Day is around the corner.
I can't believe it!
If your like me and always procrastinate then here's your solution.
This chalkboard sign is a fast, and simple project to make for mom just in time for Mother's Day.
What you'll need:
*A wood board, (you choose the size) or a large picture frame also works.
*Your choice of paper
*Cut out letters, stickers, or vinyl
*Mod Podge
*Wire
*Chalkboard paint or spray paint
*Your choice of paint (to paint the sides and back)
*I used a nail to make the holes to insert the wire. If you have a drill props to you.
First: I started by taping a line across the board to mark where i wanted to spray paint the chalkboard paint. I sprayed and set it aside to dry.
Second: I made my holes to insert the wire. I don't have a drill so i used nails. I nailed it through so it made the hole then pulled the nails out.
Third: I painted the sides and back of the board and let it dry.
Fourth: I applied the Mod Podge and smoothed on the paper.
Fifth: I applied a little mod podge on the paper and set out all my letters.
Sixth: I inked the edges, then applied mod podge all over the paper and the letters.
Seventh: I Attached the wires, i twisted and wrapped the ends to a pencil to make the curly action.
I bought some chalk at the dollar stores,
put it in a small zip lock bag and taped it to the back of the board.
Nothing fancy shmancy but a cute simple gift.
Have a great day!!
Thank you so much Jane
