A Painted Up Bedside Table!

Wow, our family has been so busy this Summer with traveling, kid 1's baseball and kid 2's swim team...that my Diy to-do list has been s-l-o-w moving!  But with Summer winding down and Fall just around the corner...I'm excited to finally get back to doing what I love...Diy projects!

I finally finished painting my daughter's bedside table!  You may remember from a previous post, this bedroom furniture below was the Hubby and I's first bedroom set 15 years ago when we were first married.  It's Fontana and used to be a light oak color.  But with it's traditional lines I knew it would be perfect in my daughter's room painted white!

I almost painted this furniture a creamy heirloom white, but the main colors in the room are  pink, purple and green...and I love how these colors contrast against the crisp white!

And to further update her room I purchased two fun accessories from Target...a funky retro lamp for under $20, and a fun vintage floral throw pillow I snagged on clearance for just $9.99...yup, total score!!

This bed still doesn't have a headboard yet (that's a fun project just waiting to happen!).  So to give the bed more heighth and presence against the large purple wall, I added lots of pillows and framed simple scrap book papers above...click here for this super easy project!

Here's one last final look!  This room went from kinda boring with a dark n' dated oak side table and a plain ole' lamp...to fresh n' bright with the simple addition of a revamped bedside table, a funky retro lamp, and a vintage floral throw pillow. Total spent (since the paint I already had)... just $30!

Okay guys, I'm sharing this thrifty lil' bedroom revamp to...
these fabulous days!

  13. I think the nightstand looks great white ~ good choice, Jane! : ) I need a headboard still, too. I keep saying I need to get to a thrift store by me that carries more furniture than Goodwill does. Hopefully, that will happen in the next few weeks. I'm also hoping it cools down a bit so that I can clean and paint whatever I do find!
