Wow...we had 180 fabulous participants last week for Frugalicious Friday!  I saw thrifty n' chic finds, fabulous crafts and all around amazing Diy projects!  If you linked up...thank you for the linky love, as always YOU ROCK!

We've got a winner to announce today for our Shaklee giveaway, but first here are a few fabulous favorites that caught my eye!

Joy from Thrifty Parsonage Living shared her Pottery Barn inspired hand crafted pillow.  Y'all know I love a good PB knock off!  Joy snagged this free clip art nest from the web.  Click here for the tutorial on how Joy created this beautiful pillow!

Jennifer from Perfectly Imperfect linked up her $5 dollar lamp base she scored from a local thrifty store.  She spray painted this baby and added a new lamp shade.  Such a great lamp revamp...love this!

Alyssa from the Persnickety Peacock shared her bird's nest art she made with sheet music and wooden plaques.  Such creativity here and what a fun Easter decoration!

Anne Marie and Cara from Twice Lovely shared their vanity makeover.  This piece was dark and dated!  They gave it a creamy coat of paint in "satin ivory" and distressed the edges.  Now this piece is light and bright...perfectly shabby chic!

And finally Ashely from Little Miss Momma linked up her thrifty n' chic wall art she made with a simple canvas, paint and stencil.  This is a great idea, and would look great in any color to match any decor!

Okay, onto our giveaway!  If you'll remember the fabulous Bonnie Donahue from Shaklee offered a $30 certificate towards any fabulous Shaklee product from her website including free shipping, as well as a FREE LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP worth $19.95 to one lucky winner!

Without further delay, using a random number generator, the winner is...

Vintage Inspired Coasters!

I have a confession...I've never used Mod Podge before, crazy huh? So the other day I was looking at our monochromatic family room and thought this room could use a little color!  So I set out to make coasters using craft paper and Mod Podge.  Here's how it all went down.

Here are my supplies.  I chose craft papers in soft turquoise and green.  These tiles I found at the re-store for 25 cents each.

Using the Mod Podge, I started by adhering the paper to the top of the tile.

Then I put a thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper allowing 15 minutes to dry before adding another layer.

Here they are drying.  Kid 2 made a cute butterfly coaster...

Each coaster has 3 thin layers of Mod Podge...this should protect the papers from any water damage.

Here they are finished, although I still need to add a cork backing to protect my table from scratches.

Cute and functional...two of my favorite things!

This is such a fun rainy day project, and took just under 2 hours to complete.  Now I've got fun, pretty coasters that also protect my table from water marks.

My first experience with Mod Podge?  Yup, Mod Podge rocks!!!

I'm linkin' this project to these fun linky parties...

MirrorMate...A Mirror Transformation!

You know those builder grade, outdated bathroom mirrors that practically cover the entire wall?  Yup, we've got two of those babies in our house, and believe me when I say I'm not a fan.  So I was both excited and a little skeptical a couple of weeks ago when MirrorMate offered me one of their frames to try for myself.

MirrorMate is a Company that promises to outfit your bathroom mirror in minutes with a MirrorMate frame.  They custom cut the frames to fit your mirror measurements.  The four frame legs assemble and the finished frame tapes right onto the glass.  It almost sounds too good to be true doesn't it?

Okay with the Hubby's help...here's our bathroom mirror transformation!

Here's the before.  Yawn...b-o-r-i-n-g!

First things first we removed this lovely mirrored trim!  Yeah...not so lovely!

Next we scraped off the old black double sided tape and cleaned the mirror edges with rubbing alcohol.

Then we layed the frame out and applied the double sided tape provided, and glued the mitered edges together.
...

These connectors we placed into the slots provided.  So far this is too easy!  After this step we waited one hour per the directions to let the glue set.

Okay, we put the frame in front of the mirror and removed the tape backing.

Finally, we pressed the mirror into place and done...it's that easy folks!

Yup, this old mirror is transformed!

Here's a close-up of the mitered edges...looks perfect to me!

And one more look.  Yup, I'm lovin' this new look!

If you've got one of these outdated, builder grade mirrors...you must check out MirrorMate!  This project was super easy and economical too when you consider the cost of replacing the whole mirror.

She's Crafty...Virginia from Meet Virginia!

{If your looking for Frugalicious Friday and our giveaway with Laurie Gale Designs...click here! The MckLinky is still open today, so link up those fabulous finds!}

Welcome to my week-end feature...She's Crafty! This is where I feature one crafty mamma, her fabulous craft project and tutorial too, cuz we need a great step by step tutorial to get our craft on right guys?
...
Don't you just love a great week-end project?  Well if you happen to have an old ottoman layin' around...this project is a fun revamp!  Virginia from Meet Virginia revamped an old ottoman using a sheet with a fabulous print...love that!    Yup, she's crafty alright...she crochet's, creates paper crafts, and has one fabulous lil' Etsy shop too!  Give her a shout when you get the chance.

Here's Virginia's tutorial in her own fabulous words:
...
The Ottoman Remix
I found this beat up raggedy old ottoman at the DI last week, I didn't judge it by its harsh exterior but saw its true potential, it was a diamond in the rough if you will ;). Without further ado (insert drum roll please)!!

The Before:

{Barf right?}

The After!!!:

{Ahhhhhh...Awesome!}

Items I used to create this look are:

1. Of Course The Ottoman ;)
{ I found this at the DI (A local Utah thrift store) for $5.00!}

2. Sand paper in various roughness
{I found mine at Wal-Mart for $2.15 a pack, I decided to get one variety pack and one coarse pack for future projects.}

3. Grey Primer
{We had this around our house since we used it on a dresser we re-finished awhile ago, you can find this anywhere though I would opt for some in a spray can.}

4. Terra Cotta Paint
{I just used a acrylic craft paint for this, I found mine at Michael's 2/$1.}

5. High Gloss Varnish
{I purchased this at Robert's using a 40% off coupon so it ended up being $1.50.}

6. Sponge Brushes
{I purchase these in packs at the dollar store, which is great because I just toss them once I am finished!}

7. White Fleece
{I purchased this at Wal-Mart for $4.45 per yard, I purchased a yard but could have done with less than that, I guess better safe than sorry right?}

8. Printed Sheet
{I found this also at the DI and fell in love with the colors, I ended up buying two of them at $2.00 each since I figured I can for sure use it somewhere else too!}

TIP: Here is a great tip for you, buying sheets or sheet sets can often save you money when re-upholstering furniture. Look at thrift store selections you can often find some really cool vintage prints, (Just wash them in super hot water before use).

9. Various Tools
{For this project I ended up using a flat head screwdriver, staple gun, hammer, and scissors. If you don't have access to a staple gun you can always use a hammer and nails to secure fabric.}

Total Cost: $14.00!!!

How I did this you ask? Let me show you!

1. I removed the legs from the cushion so I could sand and paint them.

2. Then on to the sanding, I used a coarse sand paper and it got the job done really quick!

3. Primed the sanded legs.

4. Painted the primed legs with a Terra Cotta Orange paint.

5. After allowing several coats of paint to dry I added a high gloss varnish to the legs.

6. Then I recovered the cushion with white fleece so the stained pink wouldn't show through. You can also remove the top fabric all together but I just thought this would be easier.

7. I then covered the fleece covered cushion with the said purchased sheet.

8. Re-attached the dry legs to the bottom of the cushion.

9. Marveled at my work ;).

I think this turned out so so fun! I love the bright glossy orange legs, it gives the fabric a new spin! This cute ottoman will be headed to our office upstairs to go with a chair we received from hubby's Gma for our wedding. What do you guys think? How do you think it turned out? Are you in love like me??

Isn't Virginia fabulous?  And this lil' ottoman is fabulous too with it's fun n' colorful graphic print!  Thank you Virginia for the great tutorial...I am feeling inspired for sure!  Speaking of inspiration, visit Virginia at Meet Virginia...you'll find many other fun n' crafty ideas!

Have a great week-end!
