A Bookcase Makeover!

  Be still my heart...I am in LOVE with this bookcase makeover from The Precious Little Things in Life! To give this bookcase a pulled together and cohesive feel...Stacy covered all her books with white paper.  Then used a pretty light blue for her accent color.  She also painted the back wall of her bookcase a neutral tan.  The overall look...fresh n' light and uncluttered!  To really appreciate this new look, you have to see the "Before"...   Yup...Clutter City!  Too many books, and too much color.  Let's have one more look at the "After" shall we?  Ahhh, a cluttered bookcase gets an Inspiring Makeover.  Click here to read more about this Amazing Transformation!

Chic Yellow Damask...Re-upholstered Chair!

   Check out this Beautiful Re-upholstered Chair from Faith's Place!  Isn't the Chic Yellow Damask Fabric fabulous?   Hard to believe what this chair looked like before...  Yup, it wasn't good.     But Faith had a vision, and the best part?  She scored this diamond in the rough at Goodwill for just 84 cents.  Wow, a chair for under a buck...Amazing!  Faith didn't include a tutorial in her post.  But you can read more about her chair revamp here.     

Trash to Treasure!

 Positively lovin' these painted up side tables from Primitive & Proper!   Now to really appreciate this project, you've gotta see where these tables began...  Wow, they were dark and dated...what a transformation! Give Primitive & Proper a visit for more fabulous Diy ideas and inspirations.

A Nature Inspired...Home Office!

      Ahhh, red coral.  Just one design element that I am lovin' these days!       Pottery Barn    I've wanted to use red coral in my home's decor for a while, but didn't want things looking too beachy.  After all, we live in Charlotte, NC...nearly 3 hours from the beach.   But when re-decorating our home office...I saw an opportunity.  I didn't want this room to look cold or corporate, but instead I wanted a warm, nature inspired room that simply felt inviting.   So I found 4 red coral prints, that I snagged from Allposters.com for only $15.99 each.  And framed em' up in a group with frames I already had on hand.  

I have to say...I am lovin' this new look!      Now our desk here actually isn't a desk, but rather a dining room table from World Market.  This was my thrifty solution to purchasing an executive desk that  could have easily cost anywhere from $2,000 - $4,000 or more...yikes!  The downside to using a table as a desk is file and document storage.  So for organization we used desktop files atop the desk, and modern brown wicker baskets for below the desk.
A few other elements in the room...a jute rug, brown silk curtains, and a Pottery Barn lamp.  Now this room is totally functional as an office, yet still warm and inviting.  And because it's right next to our Family Room...it gets used by everyone in our family, especially the kids!    Okay, adding a chic trend...without breakin' the bank!  Yup, that's just one of my favorite ways to decorate.

   Check out these Upcycled Lanterns & Vases from Ruffled! Amanda created these outdoor cuties from...are you ready for this?  Perforated metal sheets or Radiator covers!  She also used tin snips, heavy gauge wire and spray paint.   Ahhh, the perfect outdoor accessory for your next Summertime Party!  Click here for Amanda's tutorial.

The Keep Calm Shop!

   This Summer I plan to give my sad and dreary laundry room a makeover!  Yup, this room literally has white walls, white cabinets, a white counter top and a white floor.  But being the last room in our house that people see...I've just beein putting it off.  Well not any more.  Summer is the perfect time to complete those projects that are on your Diy list!   I've been searching for some fun art to use as my starting point, and I found exactly what I was looking for at the Keep Calm Shop on Etsy! Here's it is... The one thing I LOVE about this Etsy shop is they offer all their prints in a variety of really pretty color choices.  I chose French Grey to go with my pale chartreuse colored walls. Here are a few other fun Keep Calm Designs...  Have a space in need of a little Whimsy?  Check out the Keep Calm Shop!
