Hey guys, so I was thinking the other day...I don't think I've ever shared a picture of our home on this blog! So here it is below. Yup, we've been updating our circa 1980's brick colonial now for well over 3-4 years. One day I'll post a total home tour when it's all finished.
Some of you may know we've been giving our Master Bedroom a Makeover...at a snails pace I might add! But nevertheless we are making progress little by little.
After completely re-doing almost our entire first floor over the last few years - including new hardwood oak floors, having our kitchen cabinets painted and then purchasing new living room furniture...we're just a wee bit burnt out, and budgeted out if you know what I mean ;) But I'm still determined to transform this space into a Master Retreat...a place to just get away from it all!
So I thought I'd share a few pics of what we've done so far...
The full length mirror above we bought at Ikea for a great price and love it's functionality as well as how it helps make the space feel bigger. They call it a leaner mirror, but it's really too short for that. I had the hubby hang it on the wall and we love it!
The curtains above are 96 inch faux silk panels from Target. They literally cost just $25 a panel. They used to hang in our dining room. But I've since relocated them to our bedroom. Looks like we're going with burnt orange, brown and gray colors in this space. It's an unusual color scheme for a bedroom I know, but I think we can make it work!
As you can see below, the next item we need is a new King sized headboard! The Sunburst Mirrors (which I absolutely LOVE btw) we scored from, are you ready for this...The Home Depot! And the spindle lamps and quatrefoil pillow I picked up at Home Goods at great prices too. Words cannot convey how much I love Home Goods! I'm sure you feel the same ;)
Okay so that's our Master Bedroom progress in a nutshell! It's still nowhere near finished. A few things I'd love to do - add a brown panel to the bottom of those curtains to create "contrast band" panels, splurge on a button tufted upholstered King sized headboard. And finally a few bamboo blinds behind those curtain panels will add texture...something I love to have in every room of my house!
So we're probably halfway done...of course I'll keep you posted when it's finally finished. Honestly, I'm hoping that will be sooner than later ;)

Hi Jane! Oh, your home i so beautiful and I love what you've done in your bedroom! The sunburst mirrors are so pretty. I too love Home Goods and sing their praises.

Thank you Sheila, we are loving everything so far! Still lots more to do though ;)
DeleteIt's looking great, Jane! I love the color scheme and you have to love Target for curtains, it's the first place I look. You really have a lovely home, it's huge! It does take time though, to get it where you want it. Keep up the good work! :)
