Hey guys, if you missed it last Summer...this is my daughter's finished bedroom makeover complete with new a new chic chandy, chartreuse colored walls, and a luxurious down feathered comforter. We've loved this fun n' funky space and so has kid 2. However, one thing has been bothering me since the re-do. How the walls appear more yellow than green, and I think it's because of all the hot pink accessories in the space.
So I'm on a mission to slowly change out those accessories piece by piece until the room is primarily teal, turquoise, green and white. Of course small areas of pink/coral are fine. But specifically I'm thinking this hot pink isn't working.
So this pink piece on the left needed a new look! And I found it at the most unlikeliest of places...the post office! Yup, you read that right. This cool blue chevron art below, actually isn't art at all. It's a large envelope that cost under $3.00.
So I took it home and placed it right in the frame!
Loving the new look! It's clean n' trendy and would look fabulous with an initial smack dab in the middle. I'll be on the lookout for that. And if chevron ever goes out of style (gasp!)...easy to change out.
So what do you guys think? Where have you found thrifty wall art that's totally outside the design box? Yup, I'd say the Post Office isn't anywhere near the design box ;)

I've definitely gone to Michael's and bought scrapbook paper to frame. Also, I love the framed handkerchiefs and/or doilies wall art I've been seeing on Pinterest recently. I think I'm going to have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteMy recent favorite personalized inexpensive wall art I created was black & white wedding pictures in simple black frames in a grid. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like it!
Very pretty Sarah! Love your wall gallery, and especially because you used black and white photos. Nice job! Thanks for stopping by...hope you'll link up to Frugalicious Friday one day!
DeleteVery cool idea! Who would have thought to check the post office for art? Amazing what you can find with an open mind!
